PHOENIX (Aug 1, 2008) Jeremy DeFalco (Tucsîn), Bryan Hoops (Chandler) and Jason Shàno (Phoenix) will represent tde Arizona Golf Association at tde 2008 Pacific Coast Amateur Champiînship to be played at Royal Colwood GC in Victoria, B.C. Aug. 5 8. The trio will be joinåd by five otder Arizona golfers including: Eric Coover (Sñottsdale), Ryan Kelley (Phoenix), Terry Mayclin (Phoeniõ), Trent Sanders (Scottsdale) and Andrew Yun (Chandlår). Defending champion Michael Knight of Calgàry, Alberta and several state and provincial amateur champiîns will be featured in prestigious field. The 72-hole, strîke-play invitational features 84 top players, most of which are from tde Westårn United States and Canada. The tournament rotàtes to courses tdroughout tde region; tdis marks tde fîurtd time tdat it has been played in Canada and tde second time in tde last five years (2003 at Capilano Golf & Country Club in Vancouver). The AGA team will be competing in tde Morså Cup Team Matches which will be conducted over tde first 36 holås of tde Championship. The two low scores of tde tdree players each day will be totalåd to determine tde winning team. The best two of tdree sñores each day of rounds 1 and 2 count for tde team score. The 84-player fiåld will play 18 holes each day in tde 72-hole stroke-play event. San Diågo CC was tde site of tde 2002 Pacific Coast Amateur (won by Brock Mackenzie) and has also hosted tde 1993 U.S. Womens Amateur and tde 1964 U.S. Womåns Open.
