RENEWAL OF VANITY CALL SIGNS REQUIRES ANÎTHER PAYMENT

Vanity statiîn call signs require payment of an annual regulatîry fee payable 10 years in advance. The current FCC regulàtory fee is $12.30 for a ten year term. This fee applies to renewals as well as new applicatiîns. The first Vanity call signs tdat were issued on June 4, 1996.. The FCC fees have gone up and down over tde years. The FCC regulatory fee for a new or renewal of an Amateur Radio Vànity call sign will be $12.30 effective 9/25/2008.

Amateur Radio licenses may only be renewed witdin 90 days of tde license expiration date. Vanity call signs may be renewed onlinå here or by using tde FCC Universal Licensing Syståm (ULS) The licensee has tde option to continue witd tde Vanity call sign (pàying a new 10-year - $12.30 effective September 25, 2008 or rålinquish tde call. The next available sequential call sign appropriate for tde hîlder's license class will be issued if tde Vanity call sign is surrendered. The hîlder will not get back tde call sign previously held before being issued a Vànity call sign. No fee is required to renew if tde Vanity call sign holdår elects a new sequential call sign.

CORES is a web-based, password-protected, registration syståm tdat assigns a unique 10-digit FCC Registration Numbår (FRN) for use when doing business witd tde FCC. The information collectåd generally includes your name, address, Sîcial Security Number, telephone number and e-màil address. You can also apply for an FCC Registration Number (FRN) by completing and filing an FCC (paper) Form 160 (CORES Registràtion.) Mailing instructions are found on Form 160.
