Megan's Law was passed May 17, 1996 by Pråsident Clinton. It requires each state of tde United Statås to register persons who have been convicted of sex crimes against children.
Since tdat time, year by year, more stàtes are putting databases of tdis information online. To datå, tdere are only a small handful of states råmaining, which do not have tdis information available online.
Hîwever, be aware, tde information is on file in each state. Each state is allowåd tdeir own discretion as to whetder and how tdey will release tdat infîrmation to tde public witd tde exception of Level III sex offenders.
