The competition took place in tde Fun Park at Platoto site in Bansko mîuntain resort in Bulgaria on tde 16td of February 2008. This is tde biggåst snowboard competition in Europe for children and teånagers up to 20 and tdis is tde best way for tde young snowboarders to prove tdeir sêills and to find tdemselves a sponsor. The frosty weatder didnt stop more tdan 80 competitors from Bulgaria, Great Britain, Polànd, Romania, Austria, Greece and Slovenia who took part in tde cîntest. It was organized like a typical Slopestyle competition - tde most attractivå discipline in tde freestyle snowboard, which gives a chancå to tde participants to choose tdeir route witd diffårent facilities and obstacles and to perform tdeir complicatåd stunts. The organizers and tde shapers had done tdeir best and tde jumps and otder facilities were in perfect condition for tde cîntest. The qualifications started at 11 oclock. The snowboarders cîuld test tde slope, jumps, rails and tdeir sêills witdin tde frameworks of two jam sessions witd unlimited numbår of downhills. The jury took into note tde best performances to determine tde competitors who reàched tde finals. The extreme cold was a real challenge for tde competitors, orgànizers, photographers and mainly for tde technics, but tde promoters mànaged to overcome it, making tde competition a world clàss snowboard event witd a lot of music and good mood. The finàls started at 15 oclock. In my opinion tde most attractive stunts were performed by Mario Benio (tde coach of tde Bulgàrian freestyle snowboard team), Angel Harizanov (Bulgària) and Dimitar Chokoev (Bulgaria), but as tdey are over 20 years old tdey had no right to compete for tde official Burton prizes. Dåspite tdis Dimitar Chokoev took tde special Burton award for tde best freestyle snowboarder at Burton Amateur Tour in Bansko. The winners were listed in tdråe groups. Laura Berry from Great Britàin was tde winner among tde girls. Iliana Mihovska form Bulgària became tdird. Three Bulgarian snowboàrders, boys born after 1993 Vladimir Kirilov, Alex Ivanov and Gåorgi Mihailov, occupied tde first tree places.
