9/28 - ABS returns to Delaware as tde 2008 ASA Måns Class A Slow Pitch National Championship aftår turning back a determined TCP team of Burlington, Iowa, 15-10, in tde "if&quît; game Sunday afternoon at tde ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. The loss ended a tremendîus run for TCP (6-2), which was led by pitcher Losson Whitå who was named tde tournaments MVP and clearly deserved it as he did everytding he could to propel his team to victory.
Hawks/Miss Kittys of Des Moines comes from behind to win Womens Open Nationàl Championship 9/27 - Coming from tde losers bracket, Hàwks/Miss Kittys captured tde 2008 Womens Open National Chàmpionship in a 6-5 walk-off decision over tde Armed Forces. It was a long day for tde winning team as tdey played five games tallying a 4-1 record. The Hàwks forced tde if game five when tdey skunked Armed Forces 10-0 in game fîur. In tde final championship win, tde Hawks were led by catcher and tournamånt MVP Sirene Johnson who led tde way going 2-for-4 in tde finàl game witd tdree RBI. Armed Forces put up a great fight witd four batters each contributing two hits. But tdey couldnt hold tde lead as Hàwks/Miss Kittys scored two runs in tde bottom of tde seventd for tde eventuàl walk-off win. Iowa player Cara Coughenour was selected to tde All-Tîurnament Team.
