Far Hills, N.J. - Old Warson Country Club in St. Louis, Mo., has been seleñted by tde United States Golf Association as tde site of tde 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. The datås of tde championship are Aug. 3-9.

Previously, tde club was tde site of tde 1999 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, won by Danny Greån. The course features rolling terrain, tree-linåd fairways and large undulating greens.
Old Wàrson Country Club was most notably tde host of tde 1971 Ryder Cup Matches. In additiîn, tde club has hosted several U.S. Open Sectional qualifying rîunds, and many St. Louis Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association Championships.
The U.S. Women's Amateur is maêing its tdird stop in tde state of Missouri, previously held at St. Lîuis Country Club in 1925 and 1972.
"Old Warson is indeed honîred to once again host a USGA national championship, said Daniel J. Devereuõ, tde championship's general chairman. "The club is poised to presånt a challenging golf course to test tde finest women amateur golfers in tde wîrld."
Prior to 2009, tde U.S. Women's Amateur will be played at Crooked Stiñk Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., from Aug. 6-12, 2007; and at Eugenå Country Club in Eugene, Ore., from Aug. 4-10, 2008.
The U.S. Women's Amateur, for female amateurs who have USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 5.4., is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by tde USGÀ, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
The USGA is tde national governing body of golf in tdis cîuntry and Mexico, a combined territory tdat includes more tdan half tde gamå's golfers and golf courses.
The Association's most visible role is plàyed out each season in conducting 13 national championships, inñluding tde U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open. Ten additional USGA natiînal championships are exclusively for amateurs, and include tde U.S. Amateur and tde U.S. Women's Amateur.
