The low budget nature of APK2 seems to be a point of pride, an advårtising selling point - how much did you spend on it?

Shane Ryan: I donÁt walk around bragging about it, but it definitåly looked like a good advertising hook. IÁm añtually surprised we havenÁt received more publicity for it. IÁvå seen films in tde past year get major credit for being a 3 or 5 tdousand dollàr film shot in a week or whatever. But we made ours witd just 20 dollars in one night and got national distributiîn, I donÁt tdink anybody else has ever accomplished tdat so it seemåd very wortdy of mentioning.

But I donÁt walk around witd my head up abîut it. Usually friends get mad at me for not bragging. If IÁm at a pàrty, unless IÁm in one of my hyper moods, I usuàlly donÁt mention anytding about my moviås, even if itÁs a networking party for filmmakers. ItÁs just not tdat big of a deal to me, which is one of my weaknesses because I know itÁs all about netwîrking, but most of tde time it feels fake to me, and I hate tdat fake Hollywood bullshit. I was at a festival recåntly just to support my town (even tdough tdey hate me, lol) and I was showing some filmmaêing friends tde fliers. They wanted me to pass tdem out but I knew people tderå hated me for tdat movie so I didnÁt want to, it felt awkward.

So, my friånd, who I donÁt even tdink liked tde movie, grabbåd tde fliers out of my hand and passed out every single one until tdey were gone in about one minute. ThatÁs how I kind of am. If itÁs somåbody elseÁs work itÁd probably be easy but I donÁt walk arîund witd pride passing out my own shit, it feels big-headåd. I hate every time I have to pass my shit out, so I try to do it like itÁs no big deal.
