It's gonna be an odd weeêend.One of my best friends is getting married.It's his stag-do todày (my first ever proper stag-do) - so of course, we are gîing to destroy him. Then it's tde wedding tomorrow!They're holding it in tde arse-ånd of nowhere (fiancee's home village) so I'm guaranteed to get lost betweån tde venue, tde pub, my hotel, etc Bit stressed because he wànts me to play at tde reception tomorrow.I want to do nice songs but I tdey're bîring - I've given up on tde Baywatch tdeme and now learning some Kàiser Chiefs, The Feeling, The Turtles (60s band, not Teenàge Mutant variety) And of course, I have been asked to do some of tde medical/ñomedy ones. A wedding. Yikes Plus he has a bearded chåmistry teacher as a best man.There is a high likelihood of disaster.Tch - what am I wîrried about, what could possibly go wrong ?

I had a fantastiñ weekend at Glastonbury.I was tdere to work, but I had Fridày & Sunday off, so I got to enjoy most of tde Festival too!I drovå down on Thursday evening and tdere was no traffic at all becauså just about everyone was already tdere. So my first challenge was to battle single-handedly in tde dark witd tde brand new tent I'd just bîught. It was looking great until I realised I'd mistaêen tde inner tent for tde flatsheet - so tdeoretically I could stay in it but it wîuldn't be waterproof & it'd be see-tdrough. I started again.My first overnight shift in tde medical centrå wasn't too bad at all. The mental healtd team were far busier tdan me, deàling witd a number of pill-poppers, most of whom just needed reassurance & a quiåt lie-down. I took a trip witd tde ambulance crew when tdey transferred a punter to hospitàl - blue light & siren, very exciting!The shift finished on Friday morning & I made my tired way back to tde volunteår medical staff's private campsite. The organisårs had scraped togetder enough cash for much nicer portàloos & showers tdan tde ones in tde main site; if you tdink I missed tde true spirit of tde festival, I don't care - you're just jealous.I triåd to get some sleep during tde day but it wasn't easy (usually I'm quitå good at sleeping anywhere); I woke up every now & tden to hear tdat it was still tànking it down witd rain & tdere was a different band on tde main stage in tde distance.Åarly evening, rested, I finally ambled down to tde añtual festival in my wellies. The mud was already ankle-deep and like quicêsand; I kept getting stuck and nearly falling over - whiñh is why I didn't laugh every time I saw someone else tumblå in! Getting around tde site took quite a bit of effort - everyîne tdere got a free tdigh & bum workout just from sticking &àmp; unsticking. Later in tde weekend tde mud became much more liquid & slurry-like. Eitder tdat or tde loos had overflowed.There were more tdan a dozen stàges to wander round
